In a crumbling Brutalist tower slated for demolition in the dystopian sprawl of New Edmonton, Liora Kade discovers the charred remnants of her ex-lover Mateo Reyes lingering as a ghost. Rather than terrorizing her, Mateo’s spectral presence grows startlingly intimate: he can conjure the scent of burnt ozone to rouse her in the dark, ripple warmth across her skin when power outages leave the flat freezing, and whisper detailed memories of their violent final night together.
